Condescending attitude from supervisor regarding bill pay issue

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I added a new payee to my bank account with First Citizens Bank. The bill I paid was returned twice due to an invalid ID.

I called 3 times and was told on the 3rd call the payment was returned by the payee and that I would have to contact them, which I did. I was advised by the payee that they did not and do not return payments without first trying to contact the customer. I paid my bill with my debit card so it would be posted on time. In the meantime, I called FCB back and asked to speak with a supervisor...Big Mistake!!!

Her name was Brynne...very condescending attitude with me...asked me if I could read the message that was sent via FCB to which I replied yes...she then proceeded to read the message to me asking me if I contacted bill pay support, to which I responded yes...3 times. She said there was no record of any phone calls...she then told me I had to call the payee, which I did...payee advised me they do not return payments. She also asked me if I paid my bill to which I responded yes I did.

Her response was "good" Just unnecessary. I have been a customer with FCB since 1981, never encountered such rudeness and won't be dealing with them much longer...If anyone is considering banking with this institution in the future, hope you don't ever have to deal with Brynne!!!

Most all of the times this is due to a miskeyed user ID when setting up the payment.

HELOC Loan

I wasn't really a pissed consumer. But I dialed this number and amazingly GOT HELP that very minute. By the end of the day my problem was solved, and thank the Lord, because it was time-sensiitive. Thanks, FIRST CITIZENS

First Citizens likes to ignore you until you go away. They charged me multiple fees with no explanation.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The common theme with First Citizens is that they will not communicate with you and blame you for the problems. I asked for an explanation of charges that included multiple appraisal fees.

Then they denied it when I was looking right at the copy another department sent my payment history. Any appraisal you pay for you are to receive a copy. I asked for the number to the Compliance dept and was told by my branch manager that First Citizens did not have a compliance dept. and told that the head of mortgage he wanted it reported back to him if I was calling for information.

I am sending complaints to the NC Office of The Commissioner of Banks. I have also sent a complaint to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Many other horrible things to me as a customer. If there is an attorney that would pick up my case it would be great.

Card services

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My account was hacked in February. Over $8000 stolen.

I have been back and forth with card services on unauthorized charges. It is now May and still not settled. My banker even notified them on charges that were not credited back to my account- around $3500 - so far got about $2400 back of that. Around $1100 left to come back.

It was all clear cut. All charges stood out and clearly made by someone else. There should be no problem. It seems they are intentionally short-changing folks to pocket this money if you dont dispute each and every transaction.

Not professional at all! These folks do not care. My banker was amazing. She found these unauthorized transactions within 10 minutes.

You would think card services could do it just as well. I was wrong.

DELETED BILL PAY ACCOUNT BUT STILL CONTINUED TO PAY THE BILL FROM AN ACCOUNT THAT WAS CLOSED

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had two checking accounts, one for my church and one for my work.Well my husband suddenly died, so the church account was open but not active. So I began to work from home as an independent contractor so I felt that I needed that to be a seperate account form the church account.

Well when paying bills or using my debit card there was a continuous problem with overdraft fees form the church account, so I decided that it would be best to close the church account. So I did. Well that's when total confusion and Chaos began. I had a few accounts that I had put in my bill pay, one of which was my jeep payment to be automatically taken from my account so on the day that the jeep payment was due when i checked my account nothing had been taken out.

So I called the cx serv. dept to find out why, well i was informed that i had not set up the bill pay correctly and that I could set up again, or they could set it up for me, so I told them to set it up for me. Well on the same day I had to go to the bank and take out money and go pay my jeep payment, so AI informed her that I had already paid the oct payment and she said she would set it up for Nov. well the next thing i know they are paying this bill again.

So when I called i was informed that I would need to go to the bank where my payment was made and ask them to give me a refund.REALLY you took money out of an account that was not even active and BTW the bill pay account was deleted with my churches account so therefore there is no record of the transaction or so i'm told here we are almost 2 months and still nothing I have called on several occasions and get the same LIES AND BOLOGNA that I got since day 1. They were supposed to do all of these things and nothing was done no phone reviews nothing so where do I go with this any suggestions?

During COVID Pandemic, when I am losing my mental faculty at age 75 faster than any other time, you are charging me overdraft fees, it is not fair. I have no relative in this country or family to help me. One of these days I may be able to get some social assistance.

Dissatisfaction

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am 75 year old on social security. I live alone with no help or support. The bank provides no support to me, so there is no overdraft. I have started losing my memory, eye sight, hearing and bank provides no help. Once or twice a year I end up with overdraft, because I have no family and no help or support in this country.s[EspE

User's recommendation: Especially during corona time, the bank needs to be more considerate. They can call me when an overcharge hits so I can make a deposit (like 2 other banks). They have no senior citizen help and support..

The bank isn’t a hospital. Your age and any medical issues carry no weight. If you can go online to post your comment, you can certainly dial bank by phone and check your balance Who would take you to make the deposit to prevent overdraft?

Fraudulent charge on acct, from Mexico. I disputed. FCB returned money in July. I took it back in Sept., bouncing my acct. I need more info. I sent it. I didn't believe it was real. I sent a bank transaction. Nothing. Called several times. Today was told to give them 6 mos when before I was told 3-5, 5-10, 90, and 120 days to resolve by different reps.
